small beginnings

There is a post over at Internet Cafe Devotions that I really like. I struggle with this area. I tend to be all or nothing. If I can't do it all the way I plan to do it, then I'd just rather not do it at all. This post is encouragement to me. Maybe it will be to you as well.

- It makes me smile to come home and see Matt and the kids playing together and having a great time!

- Beth is doing better. She is still in ICU, but only because there isn't a bed in a regular room available. She still has a long road, but things look much better than they did the other night.

Hello all. I think I mentioned my friend Beth on here before. She used to live in WR, but they moved to Mississippi last year. Anyway, she has been fighting cancer for a couple months. She had surgery last week and has been dealing with several complications. They rushed her into an emergency surgery tonight. Please be praying for Beth and her family. They are trusting God for His best, but the waiting is hard.

handmade gifts

I wanted to make several gifts by hand for Christmas. I didn't do as many as I would like, but I was glad to be able to give a few things that I made. A while back, I had found a tutorial for a Rice Heat Therapy Bag over at the Sew, Mama, Sew! Blog. I decided that I would like to make one of these for Ginger (my mother-in-law). It went so well that I decided to also make one for Nathan's teacher, Mrs. Kushinka, and our neighbors, The Crenshaws.




I've been wanting to make a bag/purse for a long time, so when the theme of "What was great in 2008" came up for the extended Moseley present swap, I decide that it was a good opportunity - since I've been enjoying sewing and such this year. I used another tutorial for this project - I love free patterns! This was was found over at oh fransson and is called the Margaret Sling Bag. It took me a little while to finish, but I did enjoy making it. I just may try my hand at another bag/purse soon.


Caroline has really been into little bags when we're looking around at the stores, so I had planned to get her one for Christmas. The more I looked, though, the more I thought "I can just make one." So, that's what I did. This one didn't use a pattern. As you can see, it's very simple. This has become the diaper bag of sorts for Caroline's baby doll bottles.

almost 30 weeks

I'm slowly getting caught back up from all the Christmas festivities. I hope to get some posts up in the next couple days on both blogs. In the meantime, here is one quick picture (one of the few that exist) of my pregnant self.
