Well, originally he wanted me to help him draw Pa and Ma (my parents...aka Granddad and Grandma). I helped him and then he started drawing other people on his own (they all were specific people). So...I gave him a piece of paper and asked him to draw the three of us. He added some features that I hadn't drawn on the original two stick figures...eyes, mouths, feet.
So, to actually answer your question, I asked for the specific people in the drawing, but he decided on who went where and what they looked like. Honestly, I was quite suprised that he complied with my request.
Afterwards, he started drawing William. He actually brought William in as a subject. He would look at him and then go back to his drawing and add legs or ears or whatever. It was very cute! So...I got him to draw William as well. If you look at his drawing, the smaller blob is also William. He told me what everything was as he drew it...however, you can't tell...so I asked him to draw William bigger and the large figure is the result.
It also seems very perceptive that in the family portrait, you can see that each person is a different height! What a smart boy. I wonder where he gets it from... ;)
Elizabeth, actually, none of them have multiple legs. The extra line that you see is actually the body. :) (I know because he named each part as he drew it.) Now the Nathan figure (the one on the right) does have an extra set of arms. I think he got a little carried away!

That is the sweetest thing I've ever seen.
Very good! I hope they are hanging in honorable state on the fridge!
way, way, way, way too cute! I'm so proud of the little artist!
I'm glad you all like them. We do too! Yes Elizabeth, they are hanging on the fridge! :)
That is really cute...did you direct him on what to draw...or did he decide by himself??

I like the number of arms and legs that some of the figures have. :-)
