B&A - Living Room

I am finally beginning the series of before and after pictures. We are not completely unpacked yet, but (just being honest here) I want to start showing off the changes. A lot of people have put a lot of work into our home. So, here we go with the living room.

In this room, the dirty beige carpet was removed by Daddy and Matt, and the original hardwood floors beneath were refinished. Everything in the room was painted including the ceiling (well, the front door hasn't made it yet...but that's a project to come). Thanks to Ginger who did the majority of the walls and trim and to Mama who helped lots with the ceiling. The room was rewired to have three prong outlets and a light box was added. Cliff (my uncle) installed a new ceiling fan so that we could have some light in the room. Matt installed a new deadbolt and door knob and Daddy put in a new threshold. I think that's about it. So, here are the before and after pictures:

The floors look great, and the paint is very cheerful. Which way does the window face?

Wow, a lot of work (and love) went into the room and it really shows. It looks great. The plaid on the chairs looks good with the wall color.

I'm not sure of the exact question, so I'm going to give two answers. The window faces the front of the house...looks out onto the porch. It is a mostly Southern facing window.

How in the world do you unpack with little ones running around? I think that I am going to be a little overwhelmed.

Stephanie, I don't really. I mostly unpack things when one or both of them are sleeping. So, that leaves me very little time. That means that we're living with boxes at the moment. I figure it's more important to try to get life back to normal for the kids than to get everything unpacked. We'll get there eventually!
