Hi. This is not the usual author of this blog. Just so you know.
Yesterday I bought a laptop from The Company at an old equipment sale that happens every year. The sale runs in an auction format where everyone puts down their bids and can see everyone elses'. I got it for $110 (second cheapest of the four functioning laptops that were auctioned, so I did okay); it's a Dell Latitude C610 -- Pentium M 1.2 GHz, 256 MB RAM, and 20 GB hard drive. Everything is sold "as is", and there was no opporunity to test anything; I was hoping they'd tested my laptop decently, since two of the laptops had notes that things were wrong. It looks like it works fine; I've installed a good bit of software and such, though I haven't played too much. Now I need to put a wireless Internet card on my Christmas list (and maybe some more RAM).
Anyway, I think it's funny that I, being the biggest computer geek in the family, was the last to get a laptop. We do have two other computers, though, so maybe that makes up for it.

The only reason I beat you was because it was required for school! :o) But you definitely beat me in quantity. Oh, and the fact that your two year old play emails just for fun-that helps solidify your "biggest computer geek" status. You still win in that category :)
Congrats, Matt. In the extended cousin part of the family, I believe the only person you beat to the laptop is Jake. Of course, he's got some highly sweet Mac that is the envy of all who see it, so maybe you didn't really BEAT him anywhere. Ben & Josh both have 2. Can't wait to see you guys next week. I guess I forgot that Ana, Kate, nor Megan probably have one, so. . . your record looks a little better in the extended fam.
On a separate note: Josh is highly envious (without the evil sinning portion of that emotion) of your adorable son. We look at the pics together, and I just KNOW that Josh can't wait to have a little guy following him around, reading with him on the couch, and generally being a daddy's boy. I remind him that he might have a daughter who will do all those things with him, but there's something really special about a dad and his son.
