a hard pill to swallow
I read several blogs of people that I don't know. Some are crafty, some talk about family life, and some often touch on spiritual things. Most I have just run across from another blog. Here is a page that I enjoy reading. Much of what she writes is a little hard to swallow. However, I often find myself agreeing with most of it. If nothing else, it really makes me think. So, I thought I would share. Maybe you'll enjoy reading it, too. If you go read some of it, let me know what you think.

I read over some of what she had to say. I can see how keeping God first with an organized and focused lifestyle is a worthy goal for families. I just wonder how her children will regard their upbringing later in life. I don't see much room for individuality or choice, which I think is important as children become older so they don't become resentful.
Well, I had two reactions. I read several of her blog entries, the one that made the most impact was when she posted her schedule. It was completely overwhelming to me & a little bit guilt inducing. I had various areas of my home (like the junk drawer!) that had been niggling in the back of my mind, but she really "inspired" me to get moving on some of those easy to overlook organizational areas. So, in that way, it was a good response. But, the sheer enormity of her tasks, and the minutae of her lists made me wondering if she wasn't a bit OCD and instead of dealing with her perfectionist tendencies on her own, she was enlisting her own children in pursuing them. That evening, I happened to be preparing for our Young Mother's Bible Study & I hit upon the perfect balance to what I had read that day. I think I'll quote some of it here. . .maybe in the next comment.
I think I'm just going to type out the applicable section on my blog. . it's getting too long for this comment. The gist is that her world & her family life & goals seems very utopian. It lacks a biblical reality. Anyway, more on the blog.
P.S. I'm still cleaning out my drawers! I've done my junk drawer, 3 of my dresser drawers & I'm going through our desk. :-)
