Thanks to a great suggestion from a loyal blog reader, we have two new chalkboards at our house. :) I've had the chalkboard paint since before we moved in, but just haven't gotten around to using it. I think the kids are going to enjoy having the chalkboards to play on and it looks nice, too. You can't really tell from this picture, but it kinda goes with the other black in the room (former computer armoire turned pantry, picture frames, cabinet hardware, etc). We're still debating about doing the same thing on the other side of the divider wall. Anyway, here are the before and after shots.

The walls look wonderful and I'm sure they are getting used!! Was the paint easy to use?
It looks really good! Are Nathan and Caroline enjoying it?
The paint was as easy to use as any other paint. I just used a foam roller to get it smooth. We haven't used the chalkboard yet, though. I posted before the paint was completely dry, and I haven't bought any chalk yet...the one place I looked didn't have any.
looks good! i've found that even harder to find than the chalk is the chalkboard eraser. maybe you'll have an easier time finding one than I did :)
I am happy to report that I found chalk (even had a choice of brands) and an eraser at Hobby Lobby! We'll be trying it out tonight.
We are going to use chalkboard paint in our playroom. Let me know how well it works. I think it looks good in your kitchen
Our paint did not end up working so well. I'm trying to see if I can fix it. I'll put another post up later and report the problems and results.
